Project 3: Designing a system to sort and recycle containers
About
I collaborated with my team members to identify different applications and the significance for an improved recycling system in Canada. As a part of the modelling subgroup, my team designed a mechanism that could repeatedly lift a hopper and rotate it around a rung to deposit waste, with motion input from a linear actuator. A dynamic simulation of this mechanism was created in Autodesk Inventor, which was used to synchronize the depositing motion in the virtual Quanser Labs environment in conjunction with the computing team.
