Project 4: Designing a device for a client suffering from autoimmune diseases to move and pick items up
About
A collaborative project focused on creating a unique idea and implementing it into a realistic application in response to a self-imposed problem statement. Through this final project, I have learned the process of framing a design problem with reference to specific client needs, objectives, constraints, required functions with strict metrics. I gained experience in prototype fabrication, validation and utilized external feedback to improve the design solution. Collaboration between team members was vital, and my team regularly held meetings to communicate and incorporate different ideas into an effective design. Most importantly, I had the opportunity to actively communicate ideas to different people with varying expertise in a concise and clear manner, while finalizing the design and writing an extensive engineering report which documented the pivotal design process.
